NUDE SWIMMING

One of the Company’s playwrights – Willa Hogarth – has had her monologue ‘Nude Swimming’ accepted by Baggage Productions  for their final production of the ‘Mad Women Monologues’ series.  This series has been running for ten years, and playwrights are invited to submit scripts, with around one hundred or more being submitted each year. To be selected is quite an accolade, and in this final year, that would be doubly so. The production is staged in the Butterfly Club which is at the end of one of Melbourne’s CBD lanes, and the atmosphere created by this old building is unforgettable. Willa will be in the audience, of course, and the rest of us will be with her in spirit.

The Wyz Wimmin & Friends are delighted to advise local audiences that Willa’s script will be part of ‘The Sisterhood’ production which will be staged for International Women’s Day next year at Nambucca Heads RSL. All profits will benefit women (and children) escaping domestic violence.

‘The Sisterhood’ will include five other monologues, some funny, some poignant, others dramatic, and if you have been to any of the Wyz Wimmin’s previous productions, you will know how good the production will be.
